No one is quite certain where the original Aley store was located, when it went into business or even who was running it. One fact Abou Anwar, the living memory of Café Younes, is quite certain of is that Amin Younes Sr. used to talk about the place all the time...
Seven decades or so later, Café Younes opened its 4th outlet in March 2011 on Aley’s Main Street. “A sensitive matter; a part of the history of Café Younes, incarnated by its first two generations, should surface back”, says Amin Younes, “to cater freshly roasted coffee to the area and its inhabitants who strive for high quality coffee and a large variety of beans.”
Located on the busiest street in Aley, a lively summer destination in Mount Lebanon, Café Younes’ new branch is reminiscent of the good old days, portrayed through the vintage ads that decorate the place. It is one-of-a-kind in the region, as it sells coffee only, and has chosen to keep its focus on that.
Same quality, same aroma, same taste, young active staff… around seventy years later, Café Younes Aley is reborn.
